On Tuesday, Dynamo WFC goalkeeper Arina Taranchenko celebrates her birthday.
Arina came to football at the age of 11, trained under the guidance of her first coach Natalia Titkova and even managed to try herself as a striker before finally becoming a goalkeeper.
Arina Taranchenko is both the first football player to sign a professional contract with Dynamo WFC and the main goalkeeper in the first season in the club's history, which the white-blues spent in the Youth League. In the 2022 season, she played 22 matches for Dynamo, kept 10 clean sheets and helped the team win silver medals in the youth championship. Following that season, Arina was recognized as the best goalkeeper in the league!
In August of the same 2022, Taranchenko received her first call-up to the Russian national team, for which she made her debut on September 5 in a friendly match against WFC Strogino (6:1).
Arina also played her first match in the Super League without a goal - on April 29, 2023 in Samara against WFC Krylia Sovetov (2:0). In total, in the 2023 season, the goalkeeper played 9 matches in the Super League, Russian Cup and Youth League, in 3 of them she did not concede.
This season, Taranchenko has already played 5 games for the main team in the Super League and Russian Cup, one "dry" match. In total, the goalkeeper played 48 matches for Dynamo, 21 of them - without a goal.
