
On Thursday, Alexander Katasonov, the senior coach of Dynamo Football Club, turns 53.
As a player, Alexander Katasonov played in the 90s-early 2000s for the Russian FC Orekhovo (Orekhovo-Zuyevo), Moscow Lokomotiv, Perm Amkar, Spartak-Chukotka, Saturn near Moscow and Latvian clubs Metallurg and Jurmala. In Latvia, Katasonov finished his professional career and started coaching – he became the coach of the backup team of FC Metallurg (Liepaja).
Before joining our club, the specialist had been working at the Lokomotiv Moscow football school since 2008, in 2013-2014 he was a member of the coaching staff of the second team of railwaymen, in 2010 he was a senior coach in the main team of FC Khimki.
In 2017, Katasonov became the head coach of the Lokomotiv youth team, at the same time he held the position of sports director of the club academy for several years. In 2019, he held the post of head coach of FC Lokomotiv-Kazanka (Moscow), and in 2021 he became the head of FC Lokomotiv, which under his leadership won the gold medals of the Super League (2021), won the Cup (2021) and the Super Cup (2021) of Russia.
In January 2025, Alexander Katasonov was appointed to the position of senior coach of the main team of the Housing and Communal Complex "Dynamo".
