Krylia Sovetov inflicted the first home defeat on Dynamo this season

The Samara team beat the blue and white (2:1) thanks to the goal and transfer of ex-dynamo Tiyana Matic.

The start of the 2025 season for Dynamo has already become the most difficult since the Moscow club started playing in the top league of Russian women's football. If last season the blue and white showed an absolute result in the first four rounds (4 wins in 4 matches and 12 points respectively), in their debut season in 2023 in the same four opening rounds they scored 7 points (two wins, a draw, a defeat), then this year they have only 6 (two victories, two defeats).

Interestingly, the upcoming match with the Wings of the Soviets will be the third in a row for Dynamo, when the blue and white team meets the team above them in the standings. Before that, there was Spartak (defeat – 1:3) and Rubin (victory – 2:1). And now – a club from Samara, one of the main surprises at the start of this season.

The team, which has occupied the last and penultimate places in the standings in the last two seasons, has already scored 8 points in five official matches of 2025 and right now occupies a record 4th place for itself, second only to Spartak, CSKA and Zenit! Krylia has two wins and two draws, including a sensational (0-0) with Zenit in St. Petersburg in the 1st round.

And if it were not for the minimal defeat in the last round from Zvezda-2005 (0:1), then before the meeting with Dynamo, the Volzhanki could even claim an intermediate place in the top 3 of the championship. What Dmitry Voetsky's wards probably didn't even dare to think about before the start of the season.

Although, given how solid Samara received this offseason, the bar of Krylia's ambitions for this season should have risen clearly higher than the results they have shown in the last two seasons. There are Russian players known for their performances for Super League clubs (for example, Lyubov Kipyatkova from Zenit and Asya Turieva from Rostov), legionnaires from the leading teams of Serbia and Belarus, and, of course, Svetlana Eliseeva and Tiyana Matic, well-known to fans of Dynamo Moscow, who played for blue and white.

And if we didn't see Svetlana among the defenders of the Wings in the starting lineup, then the Serbian, beloved by many Dynamo players, took her place in the middle line of the Samara team from the first minutes. In many ways, it was from her that the main threats to the blue and white proceeded.

Despite the fact that the meeting started relatively calmly, at least the moments that the teams exchanged in the first minutes are difficult to call dangerous, Dynamo defender Milena Nikitina received her first yellow card already in the 14th minute.

And three minutes after that, another defender of Dynamo, Helena Bojic, became the unwitting culprit of the penalty awarded to our goal. The same Matic struck at the goal of Diana Ponomareva, and the ball landed in the hand of the Montenegrin. The main referee of the meeting, Kristina Dushkova, pointed to the 11-meter mark without hesitation. The Serbian herself executed a blow from the point, once again confirming the "rule of the former" for Dynamo…

However, it seemed that such an unfortunate start to the match did not knock our team out of their mental balance, because after five minutes the dynamos could have equalized the score: Isidora Vuchkovich charged the ball into the post, but he treacherously flew along the goal line and went into the field, not into the goal.

Already in the first minutes it became clear that a difficult match awaits our girls against the guests from Samara – Dmitry Voetsky's team looks very unyielding this season and fights literally for every ball, even in completely unnecessary situations. In many ways, it was this dedication that predetermined the final success of the Wings in Novogorsk.

After scoring the goal, the guests continued to control the course of the game and were close to even doubling the score before the break. A particularly beautiful goal could have turned out in the episode in the 36th minute, when Yulia Bessolova literally took the ball out of the ribbon of the goal after a cool combination of "Wings". Admittedly, our rivals very carefully used their rare opportunities at the Dynamo gate.

But the coaching staff of the blue and white clearly had to make some changes to the game of their wards during the break. And they, of course, followed.

The Dynamo team started the second half with a triple substitution: instead of Nikitina, who played with a warning, Berivan and Shestneva, who did not show themselves very clearly in the first half of the meeting, appeared on the fieldAnastasia Shlapakova, Tatyana Danilochkina andKaylan Williams.

And I must admit: after such radical changes, the dynamics were pushed up, and it was noticeable how they wanted to correct the situation already at the beginning of the second half, so that it would become a little easier to continue playing. For this, of course, it was necessary to score. Williams was particularly active in this regard, as expected. The American got a good shot from a free kick right in the center of the goal, however, Krylia goalkeeper Kristina Fedorova took a good position on the goal line, and the ball flew right into her hands.

Another true moment of dynamovki was not used after a few minutes. Vuchkovich picked up the ball on the right edge, gave it to Anna Sas, she struck and only the reaction of the same Fedorova saved the Wings from scoring! Shlapakova's finishing with her head was inaccurate, the ball went out of the gate.

Passions began to heat up, and yellow cards from Dushkova's pocket showered as during the autumn leaf fall: in a short period of time, Bessolova, Danilochkina and even Sergey Lavrentiev received warnings. The Dynamo head coach had a lot of complaints about the work of the refereeing team in this match. However, he had no less questions for his team…

Moreover, almost immediately after a heated argument between the blue and white coach and the referee, the Samara team scored their second goal. Nadezhda Voskobovich received an accurate cross from the restless Tiyana Matic and ran off to a rendezvous with Diana Ponomareva, threw the ball past the goalkeeper and ran to celebrate a goal with a Serbian teammate who made both a goal and an assist in the game against the former team.

Despite a considerable amount of time – there were more than 20 minutes left before the end of the match – the Dynamo players managed to win back only one ball, and even that one in the last minutes of the meeting, when Elina Samoilova realized a penalty for a foul in the penalty box. A couple of minutes before the final whistle, the blue and white team failed to save the game.
