Team status
On March 21, Moscow Dynamo hosted St. Petersburg Zenit in Novogorsk. Due to the peculiarities of the calendar and the rules of the tournament, the blue and white missed the first round, so this game was their debut in the season. Zenit approached the match in the status of the obvious favorite, having won a home victory over the Perm Zvezda-2005 in the 1st round.
The match against the club from the banks of the Neva demonstrated tactical changes in the composition of the team under the leadership of the new mentor Maxim Zinoviev. In the center of the defense came the couple Zelka Belovan – Anna Chudilina, who joined the main squad from the youth team. Anastasia Kovaleva played on the left flank of the defense, and Isidora Vuchkovich and Ekaterina Sergeeva were at the forefront of the attack. Our team started the second half of the game with a substitution. Daniela Basaeva came out in the center of defense instead of Belovan, who this offseason changed the position of the center forward to the central defender. In the second half, the Dynamos established control over the ball and began to apply pressure, surpassing the opponent in shots on target and the indicator of expected goals (xG) — 0.88 against 0.10.
In the second half, the blue and white created several scoring situations. Vuchkovich struck a touch from outside the penalty area, Anastasia Shlapakova went one-on-one with Zenit goalkeeper Yulia Grichenko, Irina Dricheva struck dangerously from an average distance, and in the end the team captain Yulia Bessolova threatened the goal.

About the opponent
The next opponent of the blue-and–white – JFC Rostov, which took twelfth place last season, began a new Super League draw with large-scale personnel changes. During the winter break, nine players left the team, including the players of the starting lineup: Ekaterina Ulasevich, Tatyana Krasnova, Ekaterina Dudko, Anastasia Shalimova, Lilia Myznikova and Olga Pestereva. During the pre-season period, the team under the leadership of head coach Yana Chub did not hold a single test match, so the updated game combinations were tested already in official meetings.
The club management signed seven newcomers to replace the departed players. Some of them came from Ural Yekaterinburg, the current winner of the First League is Olga Shcherbinina, Anastasia Mishkileeva and Yana Vorobyova. The first official test for the updated squad was the home match of the 1st round against the silver medalist of the 2025 Super League - CSKA Moscow. As expected, the meeting ended with a score of 0:6 and recorded the biggest victory of the red-blue in Rostov-on-Don. At the same time, the game took place for more than half an hour without scoring goals. At the start of the match, the goalkeeper of the hosts, Yulia Chernyshova, deflected a penalty shot by Nadezhda Smirnova, and the defender of Donetsk women, Alina Komarova, knocked the ball almost from the goal line.
