Team status
The match of the 3rd round with Zenit, which was supposed to take place in Novogorsk on March 23, due to the tragic events at Crocus City Hall, was canceled. As well as almost all the games of the tour in the Super League.
Therefore, the last meeting played for the blue and white was a derby with Lokomotiv two weeks ago. The match with the bronze medalist of last season was the fourth for Dynamo at the highest level. All the previous Dynamo team lost with a total score of 1:8. Sergey Lavrentiev's wards also lost to the railway workers in the control meeting at the Turkish training camp this offseason – 0:1. As they say, it's time to show character.
And our girls showed it, and even how! First of all, the attacking line of the blue and white team proved to be great - all three nominal Dynamo forwards who came to the game in the starting lineup distinguished themselves. And if we consider Elena Shesterneva, who made two assists, as a forward, then we can consider the derby a benefit of the Dynamo attack.
Fauzia Nazhemba was the first to do this after a great head discount from Kaylan Williams. The Ugandan woman burst into the penalty area, rocked the defender of "Loko" Nasiba Hasanova and sent the ball to the far corner of Angelina Gayer's goal with a precise strong blow. It happened in the middle of the first half.
The main actions unfolded in the second half of the meeting. Less than ten minutes after the teams returned from the locker rooms, the blue and white strengthened their advantage. This time Williams did it herself. The American received a verified pass from deep from Elena Shesterneva, broke away from the defenders of Lokomotiv and beautifully completed almost a one-on-one exit with Geyer, leaving the goalkeeper of the railwaywomen no chance to save his team. By the way, this scoring attack was also started by Fauzia Nazhemba, who selflessly entered into single combat and won the ball for Shestneva, who then sent it to Williams, who was running away to attack.
Well, Kristina Komissarova completed the Dynamo fifteen-minute percussion. And again, Shesterneva played great! The striker, this season acting as an attacking midfielder, ran with the ball to the front line, from where she perfectly cut out the onrushing Williams and Komissarova. The American was close to the double (and after all, she also had an assist on her account), but the Russian woman got to the ball first, and sent the third ball into the goal of one of the main contenders for the gold medals of the Super League-2024!

However, immediately after the final whistle, the head coach of the Dynamo Football club, Sergei Lavrentiev, immediately made it clear that he would not allow the team to rest on its laurels.:
— This is one of the victories that we have to win in every match. I am very pleased that we won in front of our fans and at the opening of the season in Novogorsk. It's good that we were able to do this in the game with Lokomotiv.
Of course, Moscow derbies are always principled, so there is no point in lying and saying that this is a passing match. Of course, this is not the case. But again, this is still only the second round, so the season is just beginning.
The midfielder of the blue and white Elina Samoilova, for whom the derby with Lokomotiv was the first match against the former team, also supported the mentor's mood.
— We carried out the installation of the head coach, played in an organized manner, sustained our game, due to this we managed to score.
I can't say that it was such a principled match. Here every opponent is principled, two rounds, you need to score points in every game. Therefore, I will say this: every match is important to me, not just against my former club,— Samoilova stressed.
Nevertheless, on March 16, a historic event took place in Novogorsk – for the first time in its so-far short history, Moscow Dynamo defeated a team from the Big Three (CSKA, Zenit, Lokomotiv) and did it so beautifully! Which, by the way, brought the blue and white 2nd place in the standings. Our team remains one of the three clubs that have not lost points at the start of the season so far. The other two are just the same grandees of CSKA and Zenit.

About the opponent
The next opponent of the blue and white is FC Rostov, a club with the same short history as FC Dynamo. He appeared just a year before our team, in 2020, and immediately became a member of the elite division.
In the debut season, the team from Rostov-on-Don took 5th place in the Super League (11 wins, 6 draws and 10 defeats), and in the Russian Cup reached the 1/8 finals. The next season was even more successful for Rostov: Natalia Karaseva's wards made it to the top four (final 4th place) and reached the 1/4 Cup finals, where they lost to the future finalist of the tournament and the champion of the Super League Zenit.
In the previous season-2023, the Rostov women also reached the quarterfinals of the Russian Cup, where they lost heavily to the Perm Zvezda 2005 (0:3), but in the championship they showed the worst result for themselves over the years of existence - Karaseva's team, following the preliminary stage of the Super League, did not get into the top six teams and could not continue to fight for medals. Nevertheless, at the final stage of 7-12, Rostov became the best, taking the final 7th place in the championship.
In the offseason, changes took place in the coaching staff of the Rostov club: instead of Natalia Karaseva, who headed the team since its foundation, Igor Gavrilin, who worked at Ryazan-Airborne Housing and Communal Services last season, took over the post of Rostov head coach. By the way, a former player of the Moscow Dynamo in the 90s of the last century.
The first round of the new season due to the peculiarities of the current regulations of the Super League, the Rostov women missed, so the championship for them began only on March 16 - and immediately with a match with the current champion Zenit. Despite the home field, Igor Gavrilin's wards could not hold back the onslaught of the blue-white-blues at the end of the meeting and conceded two goals, starting the season with a defeat (0:2). So far, Rostov is only in 11th place (out of 13 teams), but only one match has been played, so it's premature to talk about any serious problems of Rostov women.
Interestingly, as in the first round with Krasnodar, now Dynamo will play with a team that has never lost or missed, and the previous meeting in Rostov-on-Don ended with a confident victory for Sergey Lavrentiev's wards.
