Team status

Our team played the previous match in Moscow – in Sokolniki against Spartak Football Club. The degree of the already principled derby was also increased by the fact that the blue and white in this meeting were satisfied only with victory. A little earlier, another Moscow club, Lokomotiv, got its victory and again became the sole leaders of the Youth League. Therefore, Oleg Gusev's wards went out on the field in Sokolniki with only one thought.

However, the game started very cautiously – the first 10 minutes of the meeting passed without blows and moments from both teams. An unexpected plot twist could have been presented by Spartak goalkeeper Angelina Shirochenko – after a not very dangerous blow, she managed to send the ball into the crossbar of her own goal and immediately return it to herself.

The next moment was created solely by the efforts of Dynamo football players. At the 18th minute Ekaterina Sergeeva executed a free kick not quite successfully – the ball hit the "wall" of Spartak players – but after a moment it ricocheted right on Tatyana Danilochkina's head. The Dynamo midfielder managed to break through, but the ball did not go into the goal of Spartak, but along them. Here the Spartak defenders easily coped with him, who averted the threat.

After a minute, it struck tightlyDaria Guskova – her left kick could have turned out to be dangerous, but landed right in the hands of Shirochenko. It was the first shot on target in this match, and it was he who marked the playing advantage of our team.

That a few minutes later did not prevent the Spartak players from creating the first truly scoring moment - in the 23rd minute, Valeria Batyreva's dangerous free kick neutralizedArina Taranchenko. Blue and white responded with dignity: Ekaterina Sergeeva sent an ideal transfer to a breakthroughAnastasia Kovaleva, the Belarusian whipped through the Spartak goal, and only Shirochenko's reaction saved the red-whites from the first missed ball.

Unlike the middle of the half, its ending was already with the advantage of Spartak. The red-and-whites even made a pile into the Dynamo penalty area, periodically creating moments, though not so dangerous.

And yet, there was no force majeure for the Dynamo team in this match. Less than 10 minutes after the resumption of the game, the blue and white were outnumbered: Svetlana Vinnikova fouled the opponents' goalkeeper and received the second warning in the match, leaving her team with ten for almost the whole half. After such a start of the second half of the meeting, the dynamo rebuilt the game, began to act even more strictly and attentively and almost minimized the danger at their gates. Unfortunately, our team did not manage to hold out until the final whistle.

Towards the end of the match, the red-and-whites, still trying to use the numerical advantage, became more active and began to build up tension at the Dynamo gate. The first bell was Yana Svistunova's free kick – it was alarming, but the ball still missed the post.

But the very next moment turned out to be fatal for the blue and white. At the last minute of regular time, Anna Khaliulina was the first to respond to the ball – the Spartak defender powerfully hit the crossbar and bounced into the field. To Dynamo's misfortune, captain Daniella Petrova played unsuccessfully on this rebound, who tried to knock the ball out of the penalty area, but instead sent it to the goalkeeper. As luck would have it, Violetta Kahramanzade, who recently came on as a substitute, turned out to be there, who took advantage of the confusion at the Dynamo gate and still pushed the ball past Taranchenko into the corner, making a derby victory for her team.

— First of all, it was not possible to score a goal. There were good approaches and moments, I think if we had scored in the first half, we would have calmly brought this match to victory.

Will Dynamo continue to fight for the first place? Of course, otherwise we wouldn't be so high in the standings if we didn't believe in our strength. Therefore, we believe in our strength even now, we are sure that everything will be fine in the end.

Such defeats also need to be survived, through such games the team is tempered, so it's okay. First of all, we work for the sake of the girls' progress, and in such matches they also get it," Oleg Gusev, the head coach of the Dynamo youth football team, told about the derby.

The first defeat of Dynamo in the last seven rounds allowed the capital's Lokomotiv, the main competitor of the blue and white in the fight for the gold medals of the Youth League, to break away from rivals again by one victory.

But the main battle for gold is still ahead.

About the opponent, the history of the confrontation, the judging panel

The opponent of the blue and white in the 17th round is the youth team of the Zenit Sports and Sports Complex – if not a contender for the championship, then definitely one of the participants in the fight for the bronze medals of the youth championship. There are five of them now: together with the St. Petersburg team (it has 24 points), this is Spartak (22), CSKA (23), Master Saturn (26) and Krasnodar (29), which is even capable of competing for gold.

The Zenit youth team finished two seasons in a row in the medal zone: in 2023 it won silver medals, in 2024 it won bronze. And in general, Petersburgers have never fallen below 5th place (2021) during their performances in the Youth League. Of course, Roman Levendeev's wards will not give up the fight for the podium this year either.

Moreover, there are prerequisites for this:

However, Levendeev's team also misfires. We have already said about the defeats from the leaders of this season. But three draws, two of which were played with league outsiders – Krylia Sovetov (2:2) and Chertanovo (1:1) – are still difficult to explain.

However, the team from the banks of the Neva is still in good shape for the meeting with Dynamo, which has just lost to Spartak in the derby. In the last five matches, Zenit lost only once (0:2 to Lokomotiv in the previous round), in the remaining games – three wins and a draw.

Another important indicator in favor of guests from St. Petersburg is the statistics of personal meetings. Zenit has won 6 matches out of 7 played for the entire time of the blue and white performances in the Youth League, including the silver season in 2022. The last time the Dynamo team beat the St. Petersburg team was in the same 2022, since then – five defeats in a row and not a single (!) goal scored.

So in the game of the first round of this season, Dynamo lost dry (0:2) in St. Petersburg, conceding a goal in each of the halves.

So, whatever one may say, Dynamo is waiting for a battle with one of the most uncomfortable rivals this Sunday. And even continuing to fight for medals.

The possible participation in the game of the former Dynamo football player Anastasia Gnennaya, who now plays for Zenit Housing and Communal Services, will also add to the integrity of the match. The ex-blue and white midfielder started this season as part of our team, but in May she joined the Zenit youth team, for which she has already played 10 matches, including coming on as a substitute in the first round game against Dynamo with a score of 2:0 in favor of her new team. However, as part of the Zenit youth team, Gnennaya has distinguished herself not yet with goals and assists, but with a red card.

Nastya played 14 matches for Dynamo, in which she scored 3 goals.
