Team status
In the previous round, the blue and white closed the spring part of the season in St. Petersburg with a match with the Zenit Housing and Communal Complex. Moreover, unlike previous seasons, for the first time she did it in the status of favorites: Oleg Gusev's team approached the meeting with the St. Petersburg team with a series of four wins in a row and excellent performance (17 goals in 4 games). But the youth "Zenit" in the season is not so smooth yet: for the match with the blue and white, Roman Levendeev's wards clearly alternated wins with draws.
Despite this, Dynamo still continued its not very pleasant tradition: it could not beat Zenit again. This tradition has been going on since 2023 and has not been interrupted in any way.
And it all started for our team as well as possible. Not realizing the good opportunities in equal squads, the dynamos got the majority already in the 17th minute: for the "foul of the last hope" on Svetlana Vinnikova, Zenit goalkeeper Victoria Ivanova-Merciless received a straight red card. After that, it seemed that the game would continue to follow the blue and white scenario, however, unfortunately, these expectations were not just not fulfilled, but turned out to be simply groundless.
This became obvious in the first 15 minutes after being removed as part of the Zenit team: in the 33rd minute, blue-white-blue midfielder Darina Ishmukhametova struck the Dynamo goal so precisely that the ball passed all Dynamo players standing out of his way and ended up in the net of Maria Leontieva, who this time also turned out to be powerless. The hostesses left for the break in a truncated lineup, but with a goal in the asset, but the Muscovites had to come up with something to not just take advantage of their majority, but now also to recoup.
And we can assume that the conversation in the locker room turned out to be serious. For the second half, the wards Oleg Gusev came out as charged as possible. So, dynamovka could have equalized the score already in the first minute of the second half, but Ekaterina Sergeeva hit the crossbar!
The start of the second half was generally dictated by Dynamo: the team made a real pile on the Zenit gate, but all the shots performed by the players (most often beaten by Sergeeva and Irina Dricheva) stubbornly did not go on target or were taken by Daria Selikhova, who almost painlessly replaced the removed Ivanova-Merciless.
Moreover, the hostesses of the field playing in the minority again seized the initiative and already began to take advantage of mistakes in the Dynamo defense and conduct good attacks. True, the second goal of Zenit did not happen in such an attack, but rather, on the contrary, grew out of nothing. In the 65th minute, the blue-white-blue midfielder Daria Kotlova slightly struck from the right flank directly into the hands of Maria Leontieva, who could not hold the ball and missed it into the goal. Completely illogical in the game 0:2 in favor of Zenit…
The further episodes and dangerous moments that Dynamo football players created over and over again were just as illogical: only Alexandra Shevchenko could hit the opponents' goal twice, and at one of the moments with a beautiful blow through herself. At the end of the meeting, Katya Sergeeva missed her chance again, whose goal could also claim to be one of the most spectacular of the season.
However, none of this happened: Roman Levendeev's wards were also in the minority competently fighting back and, if possible, snapping back, constantly keeping the Dynamo defense in suspense. In the end, this tactic brought an important victory to the youth team of St. Petersburg, but the Dynamo team suffered its first defeat in the last five games.
— A good and interesting game turned out, congratulations to Zenit on the victory. But we ourselves are to blame for this outcome, because we did not realize our moments, which we had enough. Oddly enough, but I will say that the removal from the opponent played a cruel joke with us.
What positive things did you see in your team's game? Everyone wanted to play to the end, to recoup and win, to take this game, but the implementation failed us this time," Oleg Gusev, the head coach of the Dynamo youth football team, confirmed the thoughts of many spectators watching this game.
Svetlana Vinnikova, the blue-and-white striker, also complained about problems with the implementation of scoring chances even when playing in the majority:
— In general, the game looked good, there were interesting moments both for us and for the opponents. It seems that a positive event for our team – the removal from Zenit – should have helped us, but we could not realize this majority.
However, despite the defeat in St. Petersburg, Dynamo retained its place in the top three at the end of the tour and will now take on the home field of the leader of the Youth League - FC Lokomotiv. It is curious that if successful, the Dynamo team may even lead the championship standings.

About the opponent, the history of the confrontation, the judging panel
The youth team of FC Lokomotiv is the opponent of the blue and white in the 7th round – the current champion of the Youth League. Despite the fact that the capital's team has existed since 2020, and has been playing in the Youth League since 2021, it has already won it twice. At the same time, railway workers are distinguished by their uncompromising nature: if they do not take gold medals, as it was in 2022 and 2024, then they do not agree to anything less and remain without medals at all (6th place in 2021, 4th in 2023).
This season, the red-greens are determined to interrupt this strange pattern and, if they do not take the championship title again, then at least win medals of lesser dignity. It was the railwaywomen who gave the best start to this season among all 11 participants of the youth championship: They have 4 wins, one draw and no defeats so far, the goal difference is 24-5. By the way, it's not the best in the league yet – Zenit, for example, has 24-3.
It is logical that with such results, the team from Cherkizovo single-handedly leads the Youth League standings. True, the red-greens also have enough pursuers: CSKA, Dynamo and Krasnodar are just one point behind them, Zenit is two points behind, and Master Saturn is three points behind. So the whole fight for the title, of course, is still ahead. Including for our team!
In the off-season-2023/24, the Loko youth team was headed by 53-year-old Nikolai Kovardaev, who is well known to Dynamo fans for his work in men's football, in particular, with the youth teams of blue and white in our famous Academy named after L.I. Yashin. And he was replaced in this post not by anyone, but by Alexander Zayakin, who in 2022, in a stubborn struggle with Dynamo, Sergei Lavrentiev, still snatched the gold medals of the Youth League from our team with his Loko, and in 2025 he joined the coaching staff of Oleg Gusev, the new head coach. the Dynamo youth team. Such turns of coaching fate happen in women's, and not only in women's, football!
Returning to the mentor of the youth "Loco" Nikolai Kovardaev, it should be noted that in his very first season in this position he won gold medals with the team of the Youth League and was as close as possible to setting a historical record: the team under his leadership won 18 (!) matches in a row and lost the first points only in the 19th the score of the match is with Krasnodar away (1:1). And she suffered her first and last defeat only in the penultimate round (1:5 with Zenit away), when all questions about the championship had long been resolved. Thus, Kovardaev's Lokomotiv completed the 2024 season with phenomenal performance: 20 wins, one draw and one defeat, a goal difference of 81-13, 16 matches played "to zero"!
If there are still no traces of Dynamo in the youth "Locomotive", except on the coaching bridge, then there are traditionally enough ex-railwaywomen in the Dynamo youth team: These are defenders Sofya Babkina (2022-2024: 19 matches, 8 goals), Daria Guskova (2023: 7 matches) and Anastasia Orlova (2022: 6 matches, 1 goal, Youth League champion-2022), midfielder Angelina Golik (2023-2024: 19 matches, Youth League champion-2024).
There are ex-representatives of Loko in the Dynamo press service: the Dynamo press attache Kristina Kokaeva held a similar position in Lokomotiv Housing and Communal services for several seasons.
As for the history of the confrontation between the two clubs, the alignment has long been not in favor of Dynamo: of the 6 matches played with the railwaywomen, the blue and white won only one (2:1), in the very season when both teams fought for the gold medals of the Youth League until the last round. In all other matches, Dynamo suffered defeats and practically did not score – only one goal in 5 meetings…

The new, already seventh meeting of the two clubs within the framework of the Youth League, which will be held in Novogorsk, will be served by the judging panel headed by Anna Kurkina from Moscow, who will be assisted by assistant judges Daria Tikhomirova (Yekaterinburg) and Olga Safronova (Samara).
Previously, Kurkina has already worked on Dynamo matches: all in the Youth League – twice against Strogino Housing and Communal Services (4:0 and 4:1), as well as against UOR No. 5 Master Saturn (2:2).
The balance of Dynamo wins and losses under Kurkina's refereeing: 3 matches – 2 wins, one draw, 10-3 goal difference.
