The Cup of Russia is an annual tournament among women's teams, which has been held by the RFU since 1992. The USSR Cup was held only once – in 1991, the winner was Sibiryachka from Krasnoyarsk (now JFK Yenisei).

During the 32 years of the competition in the post-Soviet period, only 9 teams won the trophy:

– "Energy" (Voronezh) and "Zvezda-2005" (Perm) – 7 times each;

– Russian (Moscow region) – 5;

– CSKA (Moscow) – 4;

– Lada (Togliatti), Lokomotiv (Moscow) – 3 each;

– Ryazan-Airborne Forces – 2 each;

– CSK VVS (Samara), Interros (Moscow) – 1 each.

The current winner of the Cup of Russia is ZHFC CSKA, which in October 2025 beat Zenit St. Petersburg at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk (0:0, pen. 4:3).

As in the previous season, all 13 Super League clubs will start competing for the trophy from the 1/8 finals. In addition to them, three clubs not from the top division made their way to the number of 1/8 participants: "OSSH-Chelyabinsk" (Chelyabinsk), "Pari NN" (Nizhny Novgorod) and "Sochi".

Thus, the pairs of the 1/8 finals of the Russian Cup, made up of Super League teams and other divisions of Russian women's football, look like this:

In the event of a victory over Rubin in Kazan in the next round, Dynamo may face the current champion of the Super League-2025 – Spartak Moscow, if he, in turn, copes with Pari NN in Nizhny Novgorod. Before the finals, which will traditionally take place in October, our girls' rivals may be other Super League clubs – in addition to the already named Spartak and Rubin, these are Rostov, Krasnodar, Yenisei and Lokomotiv.

The current Russian Cup winner CSKA and one of the contenders to win it at Zenit will start their way to the finals in the other half of the grid, and our team will not be able to meet them before the finals.

In the 2026 season, the Russian Cup draw is held according to the following formula:

• at the stage of 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 finals, teams play one match at home or away

• There are two games at Stage 1/2 (home and away)

• The Russian Cup final is tentatively scheduled for the end of September, the exact date will be determined later.

• in case of a draw, a series of 11-meter punches is assigned at regular time.

• the losing team is eliminated from the tournament

The previous match, as part of the 12th round of the Super League, our team played in Khimki against the Perm Zvezda-2005. The women's Super League match between Dynamo Moscow and Zvezda-2005 Perm promised to be a test of strength for both teams. From the first seconds of the meeting on the field, a tight struggle for the initiative ensued.

The degree of martial arts turned out to be so great that already in the 5th minute the defender of the blue and white Yulia Myasnikova needed the help of the medical staff. After a forced pause, the player returned to the game, which began to reveal a series of mutual attacks. The Perm club tried to respond promptly to the actions of the hostesses of the field, but up to a certain point these attempts did not carry a critical threat to the gate.

In the 11th minute, Dynamo goalkeeper Anastasia Ananyeva had to act as a libero, going far out of the gate to stop a potential Permian breakthrough to the penalty area. However, three minutes later, a really dangerous episode appeared at the gates of the Muscovites: after taking out Ananyeva, the ball cut off and got straight to Anastasia Trenkina. The 2005 Zvezda striker struck into the near corner, but the accuracy failed the guest - the ball missed the target.

By the middle of the first half, the game initiative temporarily passed to the Perm team. The match moved to the central zone, where there were more rigid joints and technical defects.

It is noteworthy that there was no nominal striker among the guests — Olesya Kurochkina remained in reserve, however, even without her attack leader, Zvezda-2005 looked quite competitive. At the end of the half, Dynamo responded with two sharp approaches: first, Anastasia Kovaleva made a solo breakthrough followed by a shot, and then Anastasia Shlapakova hung from the right edge, but the Permian defense maintained concentration. At the break, the teams left with zeros on the scoreboard.

The second half of the meeting started in a leisurely rhythm, but after the 55th minute the Dynamo players noticeably increased in speed and ingenuity. In the 56th minute, Tatyana Danilochkina delivered a solid shot at the goal, forcing Elizaveta Sevko to transfer the ball to the corner. The drawing of this standard led to a killer moment for Daniela Basaeva: after the submission of Kristina Komissarova, she hit her head from several meters, but the ball missed the bar! Next, Shlapakova had a chance in the goalkeeper's room after casting from deep, but failed to handle the ball in time.

The pressure of the blue and white continued to increase. In the 65th minute, Yulia Bessolova tested the goalkeeper's vigilance with a long-range shot, it turned out to be above the goal, and in the 71st minute Sevko was only a moment ahead of the Dynamo captain in the fight for the ball in the penalty area. The final segment was held with the complete dominance of our team. By the 80th minute, the Muscovites organized two more moments after the standards: Yulia Myasnikova and Anastasia Shlapakova hit dangerously close to the goal, but the ball stubbornly did not go into the goal.

The climax came at 90+3 minutes, when the final whistle of Christina Varyanitsa was about to sound. Anastasia Shlapakova sent the ball into the net literally in the last seconds of the meeting, but the goal was not counted — the referees fixed the offside position at the time of the transfer.

Despite the game advantage of the Dynamo team in the second half and a series of created chances, the meeting ended up with no goals scored. The final 0-0 on the scoreboard recorded the first draw for Dynamo this season.

This Sunday, Dynamo will begin its next campaign for the Russian Cup, and Dynamo's opponent in the first round of the second most important tournament this year will be Kazan Rubin, a neighbor in the Super League standings.

The team from the capital of Tatarstan approaches the match of the 1/8 finals of the national Cup in an updated composition and no less updated model of the game. In the offseason, the club signed ten football players at once: goalkeepers Violetta Isaikina and Arina Zhukova, as well as Ksenia Oleksiuk, Victoria Dergousova, Liana Yukhaeva, Natalia Nurmieva, Anastasia Shuppo, Kristina Kiyanka, Nadezhda Voskobovich and Alina Makhotina.

At the start of the championship, Rubin, under the leadership of Evgeny Portnov, played mostly indoor football. The team drew 0-0 three times — with Yenisei, Ryazan-Airborne Forces and Krasnodar. In the game with the Krasnodar club, Kazan football players attacked a lot, but did not score even from the penalty spot.

Now the situation has changed: the team has started to attack more and score more often. After 11 matches, the club has 12 points, and the difference between goals scored and conceded is equal — 15:15.

Moreover, in recent rounds, Rubin has also proved itself to be a team that fights to the end. So, in the game with CSKA, the Kazan club lost 0:3, but in the very end Natalia Nurmiyeva scored twice and reduced the gap to a minimum. In the next round with Chertanovo, the team lost 0:2, but in the second half it scored 15 shots on goal against one from the opponent. As a result, Nuria Ulyanina and Liana Yukhaeva equalized the score, and the last goal was scored in the 91st minute.

An important moment before the cup game was the recent victory of Rubin over Dynamo in the 8th round of the Super League with a score of 2:1. Then the Kazan club was the first to concede a goal, but quickly recovered. Nuria Ulyanina and Alina Zainutdinova scored after Maria Periwinkle's serve from the corners. This game showed that Rubin plays well at standards and in the air, but at the same time often misses balls at the very beginning of the match.

Now the attack of the Kazan club is in good shape. The main striking force remains Liana Yukhaeva, who scored a double against Rostov and saved a draw with Chertanovo. Natalia Trofimova showed that she can score from afar, as in the game with Spartak, and Ksenia Alpatova became the main supplier of assists. At the same time, the team still has a problem with the implementation of moments: for example, in the game against Zvezda-2005, the players struck 29 shots, but were able to score only twice.

Kristina Kiyanka appeared in Rubin's defense, which added variability to the composition. Nevertheless, in recent games against CSKA and Chertanovo, the team consistently missed in the first half.
