The blue and white scored four goals against the Kazan team (4:1), overcoming the opponent's resistance and 30-degree heat.
This Sunday, the next campaign for the second most important trophy in club football of our country, the Cup of Russia, started for the blue and white. The tournament, which the RFU has been holding since 1992, has retained the usual format this season: at the 1/8 finals stage, everything is decided in one match. The regulations do not leave the right to make a mistake — in case of a draw in the main time, the teams immediately proceed to a penalty shootout, and the loser is eliminated from the draw.
The lot determined the rivals of Dynamo Kazan Rubin. The teams are neighbors in the Super League standings, and their confrontation in Kazan has become one of the most intriguing pairs of this round. The path to the finals, which is scheduled for September, for our team in this part of the grid runs through matches with Rostov, Krasnodar, Lokomotiv and the current Super League champion Spartak.
Rubin approached the cup meeting in the status of an unyielding and strong-willed opponent. If at the start of the season Yevgeny Portnov's team preferred indoor football and often ended matches with zero draws, then by the summer the Kazan club had noticeably changed. The updated squad, which included ten new players at once, got used to each other, and Rubin began to act much more aggressively in attack. The last rounds of the Super League showed that Kazan football players are able to fight until the final whistle: they almost saved the game with CSKA, losing 0:3, and snatched a draw from Chertanovo in the 90 + 1 minute.
The recent meeting of the two teams gave a special intrigue to the match. If in the history of the confrontation the advantage is on the side of Dynamo (6 wins in 7 matches), then just the last game in the Super League, held in May, remained with Kazan. Then Rubin won a strong-willed victory over the blue and white with a score of 2:1, effectively using the standard positions and the advantage on the second floor.
So for Maxim Zinoviev's wards, Sunday's cup match was not just a battle for a ticket to the next round of the tournament, but also an opportunity to get even for the annoying defeat in the championship almost two months ago.
The meeting was held in conditions of extreme heat — by the beginning of the meeting, the temperature in Kazan reached 30 degrees, which affected the dynamics of the game and required pauses to restore the strength of the players.
Nevertheless, the match started with the advantage of Dynamo. Already in the 3rd minute, Kristina Komissarova delivered a dangerous shot into the far corner of Violetta Isaikina's goal. The active pressure of the Muscovites brought the result in the 8th minute: Komissarova took the ball from the defender in the penalty area and passed it back to Tatyana Danilochkina, who opened the account with an accurate shot over the goalkeeper. By the 12th minute, Dynamo's advantage had become overwhelming, the team continued to own the initiative and exert pressure.
In the 25th minute, the teams exchanged sharp moments: the captain of "Rubin" Ksenia Alpatova struck near the bar, and Anastasia Shlapakova did not realize a one-on-one exit. In the 27th minute, the first substitution took place as part of Dynamo - Isidora Vuchkovich took the field instead of Milena Lyubimova.
And in the 34th minute, Rubin equalized the score – Maria Barvinok realized a free kick, sending the ball into the net of Anastasia Ananyeva. The end of the half was held in mutual attacks: in the 39th minute, Dynamo was close to scoring twice - after Yulia Bessolova's shot, the ball hit the post, and Isaikina coped with the second shot. The teams left for the break with the score 1:1.
After the break, Dynamo immediately regained control of the ball, and in the 52nd minute Dynamo took the lead again: Anastasia Kovaleva, with a direct shot from the corner, spun the ball into the far corner. Interestingly, this standard was earned thanks to Komissarova's solo pass a few seconds before the goal.
In the 68th minute, Kovaleva almost repeated the goal from the corner, but this time Isaikina knocked the ball out with her fist. However, in the same minute, Dynamo scored the third goal: Bessolova gave a pass to Anastasia Shlapakova in the penalty area, who beat the defender and threw the ball over the goalkeeper — 3:1!
Rubin had a chance to reduce the gap in the 73rd minute, when Liana Yukhaeva entered the strike position, but in the fight with Nadezhda Koltakova she shot past the goal. In the final segment, the Kazan club became more active again, using canopies and standards, but the Dynamo defense coped with attacks.
Moreover, in the 88th minute, Irina Dricheva, who came on as a substitute, set the final score: taking a shot from the right flank, she beat the goalkeeper and sent the ball into an empty net.
Referee Kristina Dushkova added three minutes to the main time of the second half, which did not change the final result — 4:1 in favor of the Moscow club.
Dynamo secured entry to the quarterfinals of the Russian Cup, where they will meet Spartak in the derby.
