The fate of the tense capital derby was decided by the only goal scored from the penalty spot in the second half.
The blue and white team came to the next, already the fourth this season, capital derby with Lokomotiv after a difficult trip to Kazan. In the previous round, the blue and white lost to Rubin with a score of 1:2, having suffered their fifth defeat of the season.
At the same time, despite the final result, Maxim Zinoviev's team showed interesting statistics, which still sets up an optimistic mood: dynamovki created six scoring chances, entered the top of the league in the accuracy of overhangs and became the best in the 8th round in the number of entries into the selection (53). Daniela Basaeva scored her third goal of the season from Anastasia Shlapakova's pass. An important event of the match was the active involvement of young people: five silver medalists of the Youth League played in Kazan, and 21-year-old Angelina Golik entered the field for the first time as part of the main Dynamo team.
The opponent of the blue and white, on the contrary, scored a great move. Lokomotiv overcame a problematic period at the start of the championship (draw – win – loss) and produced an impressive series. Elena Fomina's wards won four victories in a row over Krasnodar, Zvezda-2005, Ryazan-Airborne Forces and Yenisei, without conceding a single goal. The difference between goals scored and goals conceded in this segment was 10-0!
Such a breakthrough, supported by the confident play of newcomers Margarita Shirokova and Andrea Grebenar, as well as Nelly Korovkina, who has gained form, allowed the railway women to rise to fourth place in the standings. Having 16 points in the asset before today's meeting, Lokomotiv was only three points behind the leading Zenit and had a chance to climb to the very top of the table.
Interestingly, the railwaywomen have not been able to beat Dynamo since August 2024 — in the last four face-to-face meetings, the blue and white took three victories, and once the teams drew.
However, all these layouts do not matter before each specific match. After all, the teams solve their own problems every time: this time the Dynamos needed to convert good statistics into points and get victory at all costs, and Lokomotiv needed to hold positions in the championship race.
The capital's derby between Dynamo and Lokomotiv on the new blue-and-white field of the Rodina stadium began with a cautious reconnaissance. In the first ten minutes, the teams looked at each other, probing the weaknesses in the defense. The first promising moment arose at the gate of the guests after a free kick performed by Kristina Komissarova: Daniela Basaeva was able to break through with her head, but the referee recorded a foul in the attack from the blue and white. Lokomotiv responded with a series of approaches, but Dynamo's defense, led by Anastasia Ananyeva, acted unmistakably.
By the middle of the half, the game leveled off, although there were still few sharp moments. In the 17th minute Elena Chubrilo struck, after which the ball went behind the front line, and ten minutes later Alsou Goncharenko from the free kick struck above the crossbar.
Closer to the break, the advantage passed to the railway workers. In the 41st minute Ananyeva came out of the gate in time, ahead of Vladislav Butkevich, and in compensated time Andrea Grebenar almost opened the account, punching her head a couple of meters from the target — the ball went over the crossbar. At Dynamo, in the first half of the meeting, the game of creation was practically not glued, and the teams left for a break with a zero draw.
The second half started at much higher speeds. Already in the 46th minute, Kristina Komissarova broke through to Margarita Shirokova's goal, but her shot fell right into the hands of the goalkeeper. Lokomotiv responded in the 56th minute with the most dangerous attack: Nelly Korovkina was already hitting an empty goal, but did not hit the target. However, the pressure of the guests brought the result three minutes later. Maria Galai fouled Yana Sheina in the penalty area, and the victim herself coolly converted a penalty, bringing Lokomotiv forward.
After conceding a goal, dynamovki rushed to recoup, which inevitably led to the appearance of free zones and counterattacks of the opponent. The game has acquired a nervous character. The situation was complicated by a forced substitution: in the 68th minute, Milena Lyubimova suffered a head injury and was unable to continue the match, Irina Dricheva took her place on the field.
Despite their efforts, it was extremely difficult for the blue and white to open the defense of Lokomotiv. In the 80th minute, Anastasia Ananyeva saved the team again, coping with Grebenar's tight shot. Dynamo had a chance to save a draw in the 83rd minute when Anastasia Shlapakova responded to Dricheva's corner kick, but her header turned out to be inaccurate.
Immediately after that, the blue and white head coach Maxim Zinoviev tried to refresh the attack by releasing Zeljko Belovan and sending Daniela Basaeva, who had previously played in the center of defense, into the attack. However, the final assault in added time did not bring results, and the derby ended with a minimal victory for Lokomotiv – 0:1.
